ARE YOU IN LOVE OR IN PRISON?
From the window, I heard a voice screaming loud in tears. It was a lady's voice wailing: "what have I done to you? Beat me today, Beat me! Kill me Victor (not original name used).
Help was far for her as their flat was in the second floor of the building. Access was not possible as their burglary proof was already locked. Moreover, it was in the early hours of the morning and co-tenants were hurrying off for work/ business.
It continued for few hours till children were attracted to the scene. They couldn't do more than trying to trace out the window in which this world war was happening and laughing as the woman screamed in tears the more. I was bitter from where I was and had to show up to disperse that convention of little Children. "They shouldn't be allowed to witness everything before they'll be tempted to think that that's the standard they should emulate". That's what was in my mind. I won't talk more today on how a harsh atmosphere can corrupt the child's attitude to things. That's a full day sermon.
Shortly, the fight came outside for overflow viewers to see. It happened around the
balcony. I saw a heavy duty man exchanging blows with a lady. I couldn't Imagine that she was his wife until I was told later by one of their neighbours. At this time, the woman had managed to grap the key of their burglary proof and threw it down to only GOD knows where.
Surprisingly, nobody made attempt to stop them. It was later that I learnt that this was not the first time this was happening. It was a horrible experience. I couldn't stand it. It was sour. The rest is history.
Is this love? Then marriage doesn't produce love. Even married people can be struggling to love. That's not God's will however.
Don't aim at marriage thinking that immediately you get married, you'll just start loving. You'll only wake up in a prison serving a lifetime sentence. Find love before marriage.
Love is a fruit of the spirit.
Fruits are from seeds of yesterday carefully nurtured through commitment and patience. Love is not that thing that sharks your head, making you see stars and roses dancing around the galaxies. Those are mere feelings that can change. Of course, even stars don't appear every night. To love is a decision; a binding decision that must be groomed.
Falling in love with only one person and influencing others to want to love because of you is as possible as anything. That's the height of maturity. A man that beats his wife today tried that years ago with his girlfriends and who knows, the woman probably came from among them.
Daughters of Zion, don't let anything make you fall in love with a man who can't pocket his anger. If he can break his T.V today just because he is angry over anything, he may not spare your bones tomorrow.
Lady, don't stir up love around touts and hooligans. They might mistake you for their colleague someday. It's a sad pity that most ladies won't agree to settle with those guys from Church that love God "too much", whom the word of God has rightly processed. They easily consider them too weak. They cheaply assume that they are boring. They'd rather love those ones that rock the town yet with no meaningful purpose in life to pursue. Wake up! you deserve a soft but focussed husband than a hard but dragon husband. You deserve a unique family and not a military cantonment. You deserve a smiling family and not a police check point.
Hear me lady, until God has worked on him, you have no power to change any man. He might act nice today because he just met you and needed you desperately. Fall for him and you'll see the tiger in him becoming flesh.
Before you accept any relationship, define what is moving you. Lock up when danger is obvious before one stupid lust locks you up.
Love is a sweet gift and love makes sweetness out of all things. Yes- because God is love.
